Day Treatment Program
The Community Service Foundation (CSF), in association with Buxmont Academy, operates eight day treatment/alternative school programs. Since 1977 CSF has been helping troubled young people referred by school districts, juvenile courts, children and youth agencies, and drug and alcohol commissions in eastern Pennsylvania.
For more information or to refer a student, please contact Rick Pforter at (215) 416-3735.
We work with male and female youth, age 12-18, who:
- Are involved in the juvenile justice system
- Are truant, runaways or incorrigible
- Abuse drugs or alcohol
- Have mental health or self-esteem issues
- Have family problems or have suffered physical, emotional or sexual abuse
We provide:
- Three decades of expertise and success with the toughest kids from both urban and rural settings
- An effective, cost-saving 5-day-a-week alternative to residential commitment, with a reasonable per diem cost
- Exceptionally low recidivism rates and positive changes in attitude, as demonstrated by research results:
- Youth spending 3+ months in our program are half as likely to offend
- Youth show significant increases in social values and self-esteem
- High program completion rates 70% of youth complete our program successfully
- Option of supplemental group home service and/or in-home supervision services
Whats different about us:
- Young people thrive, making real, lasting changes that turn their lives around.
- We have a rapid admission process. Youth can start within a few days of referral.
- We build community. Through positive peer pressure, youth help each other with their behavior.
- Young people are held accountable for their behavior and supported at the same time.
- We work cooperatively with parents, probation officers, caseworkers and others.
