Special Education Residential Program
Community Service Foundation, in conjunction with Buxmont Academy, offers special education residential services for socially and emotionally disturbed students in grades 712.
We have 16 homes in Bucks and Montgomery counties, licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, each of which provides a family environment for either six boys or six girls. Young people residing in those homes also attend one of our eight special educationlicensed schools.

The residential program offers referring school districts:

- A quick and simple referral process
- A commitment to return students home as soon as possible
- Optional attendance at one of our schools when student returns home
- 45-day emergency placements when needed

Our residential program provides:
- Practical family experience that youths can bring back to their home setting
- Structured time before and after school and on weekends
- A daily regimen of chores, including cooking and cleaning

- Daily group sessions, weekly house meetings and regular counseling circles
- Thoroughly trained houseparents with 24-hour support and professional supervision
- Highly qualified counselors and caseworkers
- Liaison with psychiatrists, psychologists and other mental health professionals
- Frequent family counseling sessions and reunification support
- Transportation services
We accept youths who:
- Have mental health or substance abuse issues
- Exhibit aggressive, impulsive or ungovernable behavior
- Have family problems or have suffered physical, emotional or sexual abuse
- Resist or refuse school attendance
- Are pregnant
